Sock Panda: Being Stylish and Helping Those In Need

I love companies that have a mission to help those in need, so when I heard about Sock Panda, I had to look more into it. Sock Panda is a sock company that sells monthly subscriptions. For every sock subscription, Sock Panda donates a pair. The company has donated over 50,000 pairs of socks to those in need* including people at homeless shelters, low income senior centers and to underprivileged classrooms.

Sock Panda was launched in 2011 with the idea that all socks didn’t have to be white, and boring. Socks can be fun and fashionable, even in professional settings. I have been through a lot of business meetings and conferences, and one thing I always notice is when someone is dressed to the nines and has fashionable socks on. In a business setting where black, gray and navy are standards; it’s refreshing to see subtle pops of color and personality.

The socks are designed with the latest trends in mind. When you go in, you select the kind of socks you wish to receive. For men, your options are “stylish & suave,” “daring & bold” or “one of each.” The “stylish & suave” choice is perfect for business professionals, while the “daring and bold” are more gear towards a more relaxed retire-perfect for the weekend. For women, your options are “patterns & prints,” “wild & crazy,” or “one of each.” The first option is calmer, perfect for under dress pants, while the second option shows off the wearer’s personality. There are also options for tweens and kids, with similar choices to the adult selection.

The company is still small enough that they can cater to their subscribers needs. In fact, Sock Panda is willing to give you wardrobe advice! You can email a picture and he states he will give you feedback. How cool is that?

The socks are made with 85% Peruvian cotton and Indutexa SA (in Lima, Peru) manufactures all the socks. This is a great team, given Indutexa is family run with high employee treatment standards. Some may say that a subscription is costly ($12), however, that is pretty typical (possibly even cheap) for a solid pair of dress socks. Plus, with a subscription, you are helping those in need. Check it out for your feel goods.
